My research focuses on population health processes related to fertility, reproductive health, child development, mental health, and health systems. I use population-based approaches to examine how social, structural, and policy contexts shape health outcomes and access to care across the life course.
Fertility intentions, timing, and realization
Reproductive health across the life course
Child and adolescent development
Mental health in relation to reproductive and family processes
Health systems, service access, and policy contexts
WELLFUL Study
Population-based research examining how work conditions, economic precarity, and structural factors shape healthcare access, mental health, and sexual and reproductive health outcomes among adults in rural and underserved U.S. communities.
PCORI Parent Advocacy Study (IDD)
Research conducted within a PCORI-funded randomized study focused on supporting parents of adolescents with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This project examines communication, advocacy, and sexual and reproductive health topics in healthcare encounters, with attention to service access and care pathways.
Clinical and community care experiences (CCCE Study) of women undergoing in vitro fertilization in the U.S.
Qualitative longitudinal research examining women’s perceptions of IVF experiences across clinical, household, workplace, and community contexts, with attention to mental health and care-seeking processes.
Longitudinal population-based survey data
Multivariable and panel data analysis
Qualitative interviews and thematic analysis
Mixed-methods research designs
I am developing a line of research examining artificial intelligence and digital technologies as social and structural forces shaping population health, health systems, and research labor. This work focuses on the population-level implications of AI for data production, decision-making, and access to care.
